Francesco Aiello is a Lecturer at University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. He graduated in Medicine at University of Campus Bio di Medico di Roma in 2007. He then achieved his CCT in Ophthalmology and his European PhD at University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. Afterwards, he completed an 18-month fellowship in Cataract surgery and a 3 fellowship in Cornea and External Disease at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. He was awarded as Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO) in 2014 and Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology - Subspecialty in Cataract and Refractive Surgery - in 2017. Dr. Aiello is actively involved in training and education, as well as served as speaker and instructor in numerous national and international congresses. His main interest is on corneal transplant and complicate cataract surgery. He is also Scientific secretary of the Italian Society of Corneal Transplant and Ocular Surface (SITRAC) and Italian Eye Bank Society (SIBO) as well as young delegate of the International Society of Cornea, Stem Cells and Ocular Surface (SICSSO).

Dr. Alessandro Arrigo MD, PhD was born in Messina, Sicily on 26 May 1990. He graduated with honour in Medicine in 2015 at University of Messina, Italy. He graduated as Ophthalmologist with honour in 2020 at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy. He graduated as PhD in 2022 at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, Milan, Italy. Dr. Arrigo’s main research interests are medical retina, cataract and refractive surgery, post-processing and quantitative approaches. Dr. Arrigo has published more than 160 papers in international peer-reviewed scientific journals and is member of the most important national and international Ophthalmologic Scientific Societies. He actively participates to international scientific meetings, investigator meetings, advisory boards and expert boards. Dr. Arrigo actively serves as reviewer and editorial board member for the most important international scientific journals. He won several scientific awards and is also actively involved in international clinical trials.

Dr Catey Bunce is Joint Lead for the NIHR Statistics group and leads the Ophthalmology Research Section of the NIHR Statistics group. Catey worked for many years at Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and the Moorfields Biomedical Research Centre where she established the Ophthalmology Statistics Group – a group of statisticians working in ophthalmology and vision science who came together in an endeavour to raise the quality of statistics in ophthalmic publications. Catey holds honorary positions at the BRC for Ophthalmology at Moorfields, the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine where she is Associate Professor. He was a consultant in Singapore for 3 years before relocating to Australia in 2016. He specializes in Glaucoma with a research interest in the medical, laser and surgical glaucoma therapy. He is a site-investigator in the Save Sight Registry, Fight Glaucoma Blindness and is the secretary for the Gateway Committee, APAO. He is also a member of the OBCK board of examiners, Global Eye Health Committee and faculty member of the Sydney Eye Hospital MIGS course and visiting faculty to the Fiji National University ophthalmology programme.

His main surgical specialization is ocular reconstruction after eye trauma, vitreoretinal surgery and treatment of postoperative complications of cataract surgery.

Dun Jack is an Investigator at Moorfields Eye Hospital. His focus is on using large, multimodal data to develop modern clinical prediction models with techniques such as machine learning. After completing clinical training at the University of Oxford, Dun Jack moved to London for ophthalmology training.
He is trained in molecular biochemistry, high-throughput screening, and bioinformatics through his PhD research as a Wellcome Trust Fellow at the Centre for Dermatology and Genetic Medicine.

Andrzej Grzybowski, M.D., Ph.D., MBA, MAE is a Professor of Ophthalmology, University of Warmia and Mazury; Head of Institute for Research in Ophthalmology, Foundation for Ophthalmology Development, Poznan, Poland. He is active in international scientific societies including Euretina (Co-opted Board member 2016-2018), EVER (Board member and chair of the cataract section, 2019-2023; President-Elect 2022-2023), ESCRS (curator of ESCRS Archive), and ISRS (member of the ISRS International Council), International Intraocular Implant Club and Cogan Society. Prof. Viney Gupta is a Professor of Ophthalmology at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, the apex eye Institute in India. He heads the Glaucoma Services of Unit 2 at the same Institute. He completed his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi and went on to pursue his post graduation in Ophthalmology at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He has been a faculty at the same Institute from 2003 onwards. He has been practising Glaucoma for the more than 25 years now. He did his Glaucoma Fellowship at the at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital Melbourne, Australia. His work profile involves the medical and surgical management of Glaucoma and his special interests are Paediatric and Juvenile glaucomas as well as Glaucoma genetics . He is actively involved in teaching and training of ophthalmology residents, and has guided thesis of more than 50 post graduate students of Ophthalmology. He has over 210 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 14 book chapters. He is on the Editorial Board of many ophthalmology journals. He has been the founder and first President of the Indian Paediatric Glaucoma Society.

Prof. Zohar Habot-Wilner, M.D. is an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, Israel. She is the director of the uveitis & inflammatory eye disease service and a retina consultant in the division of ophthalmology at the Tel Aviv Medical Center, Israel. She is an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University, Israel. Her main interests are uveitis, medical retina, and inflammatory eye diseases. She is the founder of the combined Rheumatology-Ophthalmology clinic for patients with systemic and ocular inflammatory diseases at the Tel Aviv Medical Center and the founder of the Israel uveitis patients’ community. She was the chairman of the Israel Uveitis Society during the years 2016- 2020. She was the organizer of the ocular inflammatory disorders course, at the Lions Ophthalmology Educational Centre in Prague, Czech Republic and the founder and organizer of the uveitis course at the School of Graduate Studies at the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University. She serves on the Editorial Board of Ocular Immunology and Inflammation and Case Reports in Ophthalmology journals. She is a member of the EURETINA uveitis board and serves as an examiner at the European Board of Ophthalmology- EURETINA Exam. In addition, she is a member of the scientific council of the Israeli Ophthalmology Board Examinations, a member of the recognition committee of the Israeli Medical Association Scientific Council and a member of the research grants committee of the Israeli Ophthalmology Society. As a corneal specialist, Dr Höllhumer focuses on cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, anterior segment reconstruction, auto-immune conditions, ocular surface tumours and stem cell transplants.

He went on to pursue an academic and research career pathway and completed a Master’s and a Doctorate in Public Health Ophthalmology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, United Kingdom. Dr Prabhath worked as a Senior House Officer of Vitreo-Retina at the National Eye Hospital of Sri Lanka. He is currently a Research Fellow in Global Eye Health at Queen’s University Belfast. He also serves as a Public Health Ophthalmologist and a Policy Reviewer for the Ministry of Health, Sri Lanka. His main interests are prevention of avoidable blindness and visual impairment due to retinal diseases, with a special interest in diabetic retinopathy, and evidence synthesis and policy review in global eye health.

Dr. Kamran Riaz is a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of Medical Student Research at the Dean McGee Eye Institute (University of Oklahoma). His clinical and surgical practices focus on cornea, external disease, anterior segment, cataract, and refractive surgery. He has a regional referral base for managing complications from cataract surgery, secondary IOL surgery, and complex corneal surgery. Dr. Riaz has authored over 70 peer-reviewed publications, 20 book chapters, and 85 presentations at national and international ophthalmology meetings. He has been an invited lecturer, surgical wet-lab instructor, and an invited visiting professor at multiple conferences and academic institutions nationally and internationally. He has several leadership positions, including serving on the ASCRS Young Eye Surgeon (YES) Clinical Committee. In April 2022, he was awarded the Aesculapian Teaching Award from the OU College of Medicine – the first ophthalmology faculty to ever receive this award since its inception in 1962. In May 2023, he was recognized as one of the top 23 ophthalmologists of AAPI descent in the United States. He is the Chair of the editorial committee for the BCSC Optics textbook. He is also the Chief Editor of a recently released Optics textbook, Optics for the New Millennium (Sept 2022), a comprehensive resource combining optics information needed for exams, clinical practice, and surgical preparation, presented in an engaging style.

Dr Marc Sarossy is an ophthalmologist and electrophysiologist at the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and the Centre for Eye Research in Melbourne. His PhD project looked at novel techniques for extracting clinical information relevant to glaucoma from the electroretinogram. He has research interests in electrophysiology, image processing, machine learning, glaucoma and cybersecurity. He is the current chairman of the Human Research Ethics committee of the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and an adjunct Associate Professor in biomedical engineering at RMIT University in Melbourne.

Dr. Shoji is a renowned glaucoma specialist at Saitama Medical University in Japan. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree at Keio University, Japan, and furthered his expertise as an International Research Fellow at the Shiley Eye Institute, University of California San Diego. With a substantial body of work, Dr. Shoji has authored over 75 peer-reviewed papers, reviewed more than 250 articles, and delivered more than 200 invited lectures. Following completion of training, he continued to work on improving outcomes of diabetic retinopathy as a senior research associate with Prof. Venkatesh at his alma mater. Later he became an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Dayanand Medical College, Ludhiana and All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhopal in India. Brijesh is currently an Associate Ophthalmologist at the LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad and a fellow with Dr Raja Narayanan at the Indian Health Outcomes, Public Health and Health Economics Research Centre (IHOPE). Brijesh’s research primarily revolves around translational therapies for diabetic retinopathy and clinical research of retinal dystrophies. His experience at the IHOPE research centre bridges the connection of such disorders with clinical applications at the public health level. He has over 200 research publications, a book on retinal surgery and over 30 book chapters to his credit.

Dr. Javier Zarranz-Ventura obtained his medical degree at Universidad de Navarra, specialist training in ophthalmology at Clínica Universidad de Navarra, and a PhD in medicine at Universidad de Navarra, awarded cum laude with European mention. He underwent a fellowship in medical retina and uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London (2011-2012) and two fellowships in vitreoretinal surgery at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust and Bristol Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (2012-2014). He obtained a Master’s Degree for Medical Directors and Clínical Managers from the National Health School, Instituto de Salud Carlos III (2019). In 2021 he received the prestigious Premio Arruga for the best CV in Ophthalmology under 40 for the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology. He has been working as a vitreoretinal surgeon at the Institut Clínic d'Oftalmologia (ICOF), Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, and Hospital Universitari Sagrat Cor in Barcelona since May 2014. His main clinical and research interests are age-related macular degeneration (AMD), diabetic eye disease, and vitreoretinal surgery, as well as retinal imaging techniques, particularly OCT and OCT-A, and Artificial Intelligence. In the clinical research field, Dr. Zarranz-Ventura has coordinated multicentre research projects in AMD and uveitis. He is a 3A Researcher at the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS) and is Director of >16 PhD projects in diabetic retinopathy, diabetic macular oedema, AMD, and vitreoretinal surgery at the University of Barcelona, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and the University of Navarra. He is the national coordinator, principal investigator and chair of the steering committee of the first Spanish Neovascular AMD database (Fight Retinal Blindness Spain registry). He is member of numerous scientific societies such as the European Society of Retina Specialists (EURETINA), the British and Eire Vitreo-Retinal Society of Retina Specialists (BEAVRS), the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO), the Spanish Society of Ophthalmology (SEO) and the Spanish Society of Retina and Vitreous (SERV), where he is a board member as representative for Catalunya. Xinyuan Zhang - Beijing Tongren Eye Center, China
Dr Zhang currently serves as the Professor and PhD supervisor at the Beijing Institute of Ophthalmology, Beijing TongRen Eye Center, Capital Medical University. As a vitreous-retinal clinical scientist, Dr Zhang’s clinical interests lie in treatments and designing, conducting randomized clinical trials (RCT) on retinal diseases especially on retinal vascular and macular diseases. Dr Zhang’s research interests focus on exploring the molecular mechanisms of different medicines on retinal diseases (e.g. diabetic retinopathy) and applying new treatments on retinal diseases (such as gene therapy). By employing the more recent concepts of disease pathogenesis and a variety of recently developed laboratory techniques, she has published more than 70 peer reviewed original research manuscripts and invited reviews in leading international journals. Dr. Zhang has been recommended and has actively participated in several international leadership programs in Ophthalmology (USA, APAO ect). Professor Zhang works tightly with the ARVO leadership and has been a participant in the ARVO-CHINA and CHINA- ARVO chapters. As the project leader, Professor Zhang is currently running 14 national and provincial projects, 8 journal editors and 16 invited reviewers for the international SCI journals including the official journal of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists “Eye”, APJO ect.
