Plasticity of ether lipids promotes ferroptosis susceptibility and evasion
The cellular organelles peroxisomes contribute to the sensitivity of cells to ferroptosis by synthesizing polyunsaturated ether phospholipids, and changes in the abundances of these lipids are associated with altered sensitivity to ferroptosis during cell-state transitions.

In the absence of GPX4, FSP1 regenerates ubiquinol from the oxidized form, ubiquinone, using NAD(P)H and suppresses phospholipid peroxidation and ferroptosis in cells.

Interactome map uncovers phosphatidylserine transport by oxysterol-binding proteins
The lipid-binding profiles of all lipid-transfer proteins in Saccharomyces cerevisiae are determined and a new subfamily of oxysterol-binding proteins that function in phosphatidylserine homeostasis and transport is identified.

Diverse type VI secretion phospholipases are functionally plastic antibacterial effectors
A functionally diverse superfamily of bacterial phospholipase enzymes that mediate antagonisitc interactions as effectors of the type VI secretion system is uncovered; these enzymes degrade the bacterial membrane, representing a novel mechanism of bacterial competition.
