Maternal, newborn and reproductive health in low-and middle-income and fragile settings

This Collection aims to publish the latest research and advances in maternal, newborn, and reproductive health care, with a particular emphasis on low- and middle-income countries and humanitarian and fragile settings. The launch of this Collection coincides with the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference 2023 in Cape Town.

The topics will include, but are not limited to:

  • Pregnancy care and management of obstetric complications
  • Prevention and treatment of infections in pregnancy
  • Vaccination in pregnant women and neonates
  • Care of sick, preterm, and/or low birthweight neonates
  • Fertility, family planning, and contraception
  • HIV and sexually transmitted infections
  • Gender-based violence, especially in humanitarian settings
  • Mental health, including peri- and post-partum mood disorders
  • Respectful maternal and newborn care
  • Related adolescent health care issues

This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 3.
