Journal Information

Nature Chemical Engineering is a new monthly online journal, debuting in January 2024, dedicated to publishing the most significant original research, commentary and analysis of direct relevance to the diverse community of chemical engineers in both academia and industry.

Aims & scope

Nature Chemical Engineering aims to highlight all aspects of chemical engineering: from fundamental scientific advances in chemical, physical and biological systems to the design, scale-up and optimization of chemical processes of importance to society. The journal will showcase the breadth of the discipline by covering all aspects of engineering molecular processes and transformations over a wide range of scales and systems.

Online publication

Nature Chemical Engineering is an exclusively online publication. Articles are published using an Advanced Online Publication process, giving our authors an earlier publication date and allowing our readers to access papers several weeks before they appear in a specific issue. Note that papers published online are definitive and may be altered only through the publication of an Addendum or Correction, so authors should make every effort to ensure that the page proofs are correct.

Content types

We publish a range of content types, including research Articles, News & Views, Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, Features and Correspondence that elaborate on significant advances in the field and cover topical issues.
